Terms of Use

Effective date: October 2, 2026.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Schema Markup Checker website at schema-checker.com (the “Site”), the Schema Markup Checker Chrome extension (the “Extension”) and the JSON API (the “API”), together the “Services”, provided by Damir Idrisov, an individual (“we”, “us”). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

What the Services do

The Services extract structured data (schema.org markup in JSON-LD and Microdata) from web pages and check it against the schema.org vocabulary and the published requirements of Google rich results. The results are informational. They do not guarantee that a page will receive a rich result or any ranking, and they are not advice from Google or schema.org. We are not affiliated with Google LLC or schema.org.

Free use and changes

The Services are currently provided free of charge and without an account. We may change, limit, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, including rate limits for the Site and the API, and we may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a new effective date.

Acceptable use

  • Use the Site scan and the API only on sites you own or are authorized to test. Respect each site's terms and robots rules.
  • Do not use the Services to overload, probe or attack any website, or to circumvent access controls or bot protection.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt the Services, bypass rate limits, or access them with automated tools beyond the documented API.
  • Do not resell the Services or present their output as an official Google or schema.org verdict.

Your content

You keep all rights to the pages you check. By submitting a page address you allow us to fetch that public page, process its markup and show you the report. The Extension processes pages inside your browser and does not send them to us. Reports produced by the Site may be reachable by anyone who has the report link for as long as they are stored (see the Privacy Policy for retention periods).

Intellectual property

The Services, including their code, design, texts and the name Schema Markup Checker, belong to us or our licensors. The schema.org vocabulary is published by schema.org under its own license. You may use the reports and exports produced for you without restriction.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted availability. Validation rules follow public documentation that changes over time; a report may be incomplete or out of date.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of traffic, revenue, data or rankings, arising from the use of or inability to use the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for them in the twelve months before the claim, which for free use is zero.

Third-party services

The Extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, whose terms also apply to its installation. The Site uses Google Analytics in consent mode: analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Termination

We may block access from addresses or clients that violate these Terms. You may stop using the Services and uninstall the Extension at any time.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the courts of that country unless mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise.
